   between the broken pieces:
the untold stories of depression in Kuching

is one of our passions projects we created to raise mental health awareness in Kuching, Sarawak.

Our team collected letters written by people who are going through a journey with depression and showcased the collection during the exhibition.

Each letter chronicles the story of the writer’s life with depression, many of whom have kept their stories to themselves for fear of being shamed and shunned. Their fear is the result of the stigma attached to mental illness in the relatively reserved society of Kuching city, hence, the awareness is still low.

. 'between the broken pieces' was restaged in Singapore the following year (2019), titled, Between the Pieces: an exhibition on untold stories of depression in Singapore & Kuching which was held concurrently, during the World Mental Health Month, with the exhibition in Kuching.
